12/18/11 We have just returned from a grueling 3 day trip across the South purchasing two large collections!
My wife Ginger and myself drove 1,800 miles in three days this past week in a very bumpy huge truck which we were able to fill with new exciting trains to offer you on choochooauctions.com and ebay. We left Cape Canaveral last Wednesday in the morning and traveled to the first collection in North Carolina. I must say that the truck was empty and the truck was jumping almost flying us out of our seats several times. Once we got some inventory in the truck it was better! My back still hurts from this trip though! After picking the first collection we scurried West to Alabama where we picked up the second collection. We were able to return home Friday night allowing me to go golfing on Saturday morning! :)
The first collection is a nice modern Lionel collection with mostly O gauge, but also some G gauge trains. Everything in this collection is new in the original boxes and most of the shipping boxes or master cartons. If you like it new, you will like this collection!
The second collection has some post war Lionel, but mostly modern trains including some classic Lionel. The only thing with this collection is that the trains were on shelves so may have some dust. I was told that nothing was run, and the trains I looked at had no traces of running on the wheels, but that was only a few items. As always we will make sure that we grade these correctly. While the trains themselves were displayed on shelves, the boxes were at another location. Some of these boxes got wet and are tattered. But what is in the boxes is pretty nice. If you don't mind tattered boxes, you'll love items from this collection!
